Ray
Lucchesi is the president of Silverton Consulting and has
worked in data storage for over 25 years, mostly in
engineering and marketing new enterprise class disk and
tape automation products. Ray also speaks at major storage
conferences and has authored numerous articles for the
storage industry press.
At
Silverton Consulting,
Ray has helped storage vendors improve product development,
marketing and strategy. Also, Ray has also helped data
storage end users evaluate and optimize new storage
products.
At
StorageTek,
Ray focused on marketing and product strategy. Before that,
he directed embedded code development for
StorageTek’s enterprise disk subsystem.
Much earlier, Ray was lead architect and later managed the
team that developed the host (server) software for
StorageTek’s first automated tape library.
Ray holds a BS from Bradley University. Ray is a Senior
member of the IEEE, an elected officer of the IEEE Denver
Section ExComm and a registered member of TASA (Technical
Advisory Service for Attorneys). Ray was voted

for his April'07 talk on VoIP data mining at the Spring SNW
Ray, together with others, invented two key patents on tape
