SAN Storage Buying Guide
We know there are many SAN storage buying guides available today and that many present themselves as objective, facts based comparisons. I try my best to not interject opinion into our buying guide but probably fail more than I suspect.
One thing you won’t find here is a “best SAN storage system”. There are just too many variables for most storage systems and application environments to claim one best system for everyone. So if you searching for that, please go elsewhere.
However, you will find lot’s of performance data here, cut in as many ways as I deem fit to judge system performance. I believe performance data, using published, audited, and reviewed resuls, are as objective as one can get.
Also, I have supplied extensive tables detailing system capacities, features, and functionality covering 43 SAN storage systems. I know there are many more than that out there but I had to stop somewhere. However, you will find all the major vendors (Dell, EMC, HP, HDS, IBM and NetApp) as well as a smattering of many others. It’s not exhaustive and wasn’t intended to be but I do believe that somewhere in this list one can find the right storage for your environment.
